Humans
The Humans are a species of carbon-based oxygen breathers from the planet Earth (now occupied by the Mantis). This species originates from the Sol star system. From here, they have colonized a number of planets. The youngest and most remote of their colonies is the Vega star system, located at the outer rim of the milky way galaxy. The Humans are split into 2 factions, the Imperials, and the Colonials (you can only play as a colonial, though). But there are also Smugglers (The Group where you start your journey as a pirate, there main planet is Kalabesh.) and Rebels (a small group located on Mars and Rebel Sanctuary Sarayon)
Mantis
The Mantis are a race of silicone-based insectoid beings that are as intelligent as they are aggressive. They measuring up to 3 meters in height and look extremely repelling to the human eye.
It is said that their home planet was destroyed long ago in a ecological crisis or civil war. Little is know about this event. It is however regarded as a fact that their entire species has since been submitted to a nomadic lifestyle, roaming the galaxy and pillaging the planets as they pass by, like a swarm of locusts.
The Mantis society is hierarchically organized. At its center is the powerful Queen Dydrana. She resides inside Mantis Hive, an enormous space-bound structure. The Mantis rely on the hive ship for reproduction and survival of their species. Without the queen, the Mantis could not reproduce, If the Mantis Queen was Destroyed then the mantis species would surely follow. It is their Achilles heel. But recently it's discovered that there might be more Mantis Queens.
Ancients
The Ancients are a species of sentient aliens that perished long before the rise of the human empire. Nothing is know about their biology, appearance, or origins.
The name “Ancients” was given to them by scientists and archaeologists when it was first discovered that an ancient alien civilization had inhabited the galactic sector millions of years ago. Relics of this perished race hint at a technologically superior culture, peaceful but very powerful. Why this species has disappeared and where they have gone remains unknown.
The purpose of the technological artifacts that have been found is equally unclear, as are any methods on how to operate them. The location of their homeworld is also a mystery. It may have been destroyed, it may be located in a different galaxy altogether. Speculations have it that the technology of the Ancients might be the key to defeating the Mantis. However, the planets where the major excavation sites and installations of the Ancients are located today are occupied by the Mantis, making them inaccessible to human exploration.
Until now, no human pilot has had the skills to challenge the Mantis and solve the mysteries of the Ancients.
Some theories also state that the ancients was the builder of the Stargates.
Methanoids
The Methanoids are a race of carbon-based methane breathers. They originate from the planet Tau Ceti IV, now occupied by the Mantis. They have far more advanced technology than the Mantis called Zero Point. They, just like the human colonists, have inhabited lots of star systems like the Draconis System.
