Mercury

With its close proximity to the Sun and wildly eccentric orbit, Mercury was long thought spectacularly uninhabitable. Predictably, this theory was turned on its head when a young Astronaut called Johan Alexilin became stranded on Mercury and managed to survive for 4 whole years.
Living of nothing but ice water and silica high in complex alien proteins, Alexilin managed to avoid the scorching Sun and subzero termperatures of the shadow-side by walking the temperate line in between. altough apearing stationary, the ground below Mercury's ore mining settlements slowly moves in pace with the temperate zone, keeping the Sun permamently semi-obscured below their horizon.
