Starmap
The STARMAP is where you go to travel between planets. Click on the RED icon, located in the top middle of your screen, to go to the starmap. Now in the starmap, to travel to a planet you must first explore the route by sending a PROBE. This is done through the starmap's sidepanel. The PROBE takes CRYONITE and will take time to explore the route, but it can be made instantly by clicking on the HYPERJUMP button. However, this consumes ENERGY. Once the route is explored, you can travel there by selecting the planet and then clicking the TRAVEL button. Interplanetary travel can take considerable time. But in the same way as sending a probe, you can make this instantaneous again by spending energy on a HYPERJUMP. You can also travel to entirely different star system's by find and using a STAR GATE. Note that jumping to another system from a STAR GATE won't take any time, and won't cost energy.
Pirate Mode
When in PIRATE MODE, you can fight other human pilots and other pilots can fight you. But first, you have to reach rank 7 to activate the new skull on the top center of your screen. After reaching rank 6, you will have the ability to activate pirate mode by simply clicking on the skull. Pirate Mode gives you the possibility to attack other players in PM, but you can be attacked too! Since the update you get no advantage from PM without having bounty. Get bounty by killing other pilot, and show that you're not afraid to show your glory!
Items & Blueprints
ITEMS are things that you can install on your ship, such as weapons, shields, afterburners and collectors. Some items are sold in the HANGARS of nearby space stations for Cryonite. Most items however cannot be purchased directly -- you must first loot the Blueprints from the Mantis and then take it to the Hangar for manufacture. Blueprints are also two types: the non-rare ones, which are the normal blue blueprints dropped form mantises. And the rare ones: Which are stronger than other blueprints, you can identify one easily cause they're gold blueprints, they are more expensive than normal ones, but worth it!
Pilot
Your pilot profile contains information about yourself and your achievements. It also has a guest book where other pilots can leave you messages. Based on their war score, pilots are ranked in the LADDER. To change your pilot name, you'll have to enter Item Shop and select "pilot items". However, additional gold will be required for you to change your pilot name as a fee.
Ships
Each pilot can buy his own fleet of spaceships. You can purchase new ships in the HANGAR of a nearby space station for CRYONITE depending on your rank and the best system that you explored so far. Sometimes, while shooting a mantis a gold blueprint drops, which can be either item or a ship, in case of a ship, it will be best ship in the system you are in, and will cost double Cryonite as any other normal ships that you can buy, it has more health and of course stronger!
Buddys
Your buddy list helps you keep track of your friends and what they are currently doing. You can add and remove people from the list at will. BUDDIES must first be approved by clicking the A button in the list before they are added. BUDDIES can be deleted by clicking the X button on the buddy list. The limited number of buddies is 50, but can be increased by getting one of the Buddylist Cap Expanders at the Item Shop
Chat
The in-game chat allows you to communicate with other players. You can chat publicly or open private channels with your BUDDIES, SQUADRON, CLAN or specific players that you have selected with your mouse cursor and activated SCAN with, then click OPEN CHAT and make your best not to use bad langauge on chat, cause you can be muted by the power of the game moderators.
If you need any in-game help, then you can click on the '?' Icon above (top right) and select 'Contact GM'. If one is on, then you will enter GM SUPPORT. This is for help and advise, report to a GM a bug or problem with the game etc. Please ONLY use this GM SUPPORT for support not for PUBLIC use
Missions
Missions are operations aimed towards a strategic purpose, such as raids on Mantis transports and the like. To go on a mission, go to ORBIT, open the SIDE PANEL (Space Bar), and pick one from the list of currently advertised missions. Every mission you complete successfully helps free the galaxy from the ruthless oppression of the Mantis! For each mission completed you will be rewarded with a good amount of CRYONITE. Doing a story mission - missions who are in yellow - will get you more cryonites than normal white ones, and after finishing all your story missions you will unlock a new system, new ships, new challenges, more mantis' to kill.
Squadrons
You can team up with other pilots and do missions together. The maximum size for a squadron is five pilots. When in a squadron, all Cryonite collected by individual pilots is shared between all squadron members. In addition, when squadron members work together to kill a Mantis, they will receive a small XP bonus as recognition of their teamwork. The SQUADRON window is unlocked during the first mission on VEGA 1. When unlocked, it is accessible only in ORBIT from the SQUADRON tab in the SIDE PANEL. However, if a player created a squadron and started a mission that a member of the SQUADRON already did, the member will not receive any CRYONITE but is free to help his SQUADRON, and a player cannot join a SQUADRON doing a mission he haven't reached yet. Squads also enjoy the benefit of being able to be named whatever you want, and you are also able to choose weather or not to make it a private squad or not. Private squads are only visible to BUDDIES. Another benefit of a squad is they have their own linked chat.
Please remember that in a SQUADRON and even SOLO, you MUST have the Ship and Technology of that system for the missions. If not, you will be unable to accept the mission. Since the update it isn't possible any more to join in a squad which is doing a mission.
Clans
Clans are alliances of players that team up to work together against the Mantis and to conquer CONQUEST PLANETS. Clan members enjoy benefits such as clan-specific chat channels. Clans are ranked in the CLAN LADDER. Members can be promoted to be officers or captains in the clan by the Admiral, this will give the member new abilities and functions. You can expand the member cap of your clan by purchasing one of the Clan Size Expanders in the Item Shop.
Ladder
The ladder lists all pilots and clans based on their warscore. For a pilot, he will be placed depending on his individual warscore gained by killing mantises! For a clan, the total warscore of all members will be calculated, and the clan will be placed in the ladder depending on how much big its total warscore is. If a member or a clan reached first place at end of week, will gain a gold skull on his profile or in the clan profile!
Item Shop
Open this window if you wish to purchase ENERGY instantly and depending on your rank, BOOSTER PACKS or PREMIUM MEMBERSHIPS!
This also gives you the price list of all the Ships you have unlocked and the blueprints (BP's) you've found
XP & Ranks
For each alien ship destroyed, you will gain XP (experience Points). If you gather enough XP, you will level-up to a new LEVEL. Reaching a new level give you access to new game functions and better spaceships and items.
Try to concentrate all your efforts on higher level Mantis as your XP will raise quicker
You don't get any xp from Mantis which are lower then 8 lv then you are.
Conquest Planets
Each Star System has one or more planets that can be conquered by a CLAN. To enter a Conquest Planet, your Clan must first pay the planet's 'Levy', payable by Clan Officer or above, have the correct CONQUEST SHIP bought (via the clan window) and then wait until the scheduled start of conquest. When the planet is ready, you must land your Conquest Ship first, as no other pilots from your clan can land until this is done.Your clan's aim is for its Conquest Ship to Activate all beacons before all other clans, or to have the most beacons activated by the end of conquest. If you succeed, you will win the conquest battle and the planet itself!
Bounty System
If a pilot is in pirate mode, his name will be displayed in the new bounties tab in the orbit side panel. This tab also shows all players in pirate mode along with their bounty and location. Only pirates in your current system will be detailed. The more pilots you kill, the more bounty you get. The higher the pilots bounty, the higher up in the bounty list he is listed. If a pilot is killed, he is automatically removed from the bounty list and his bounty is resetted. If multiple bounty hunters fight against the same target and win, the bounty is split amongst the winners depending on effort.
