The Starbase Hangar is where you upgrade and customize your ship. It is also where you will be transported if your ship is destroyed and you pressed: "Rescue Now" You will be transported to the Orbital Hangar if the planet has one, if not to the Starbase Hangar.
General info
When docked in the hangar, you can manufacture items and install them on your ship. You can either choose from a selection of items offered by the starbase, or use a blueprint looted from the Mantis to manufacture special items. The selection of items available for manufacturing varies from starbase to starbase. Manufacturing an item consumes a certain amount of Cryonite. You can also scrap items that are installed on your ship to make space for new items. Scrapped items are converted back into cryonite, but for half of their original value. You can also buy new ships and make modifications to the ships you own in a hangar.
Click on the navigation icon located left of the minimap to switch to zone selection mode. Then simply select hangar to enter the hangar.
Hangar Types
There are 2 types of Hangars, a Orbital Hangar and a Starbase Hangar. The differance is that an Starbase Hangar is seen from the Starmap, the Orbital Hangars not.
Hanger Locations
Note: Collosus is a Orbital Hangar with Starbase Hangar capabilities as it also acts as hangar for podded people on Lyris and Aurora.
